Two at a Time Socks

I got a call from a very important client the other Dad called and asked me to make him 6 pairs of socks explaining that he doesn't want to wear any other kind.  Naturally his order jumped the queue and I now have the first pair done.  But before doing this, I decided that it would be in my best interest to finally learn how to make "Two at a Time Socks".  When you make socks this way you don't have to count rows (except when you have to count for shaping etc.) because when you reach the right length on one calf you reach the right length on the second.  Same goes for the foot.  You also avoid the dreaded "Second Sock Syndrome" which can level any knitter to their knees not wanting to make the second sock, even when they're completely infatuated with the first.

My first pair of Two at a Time Socks!

New Work Station

My new desk in the studio.

We decided to revamp things in the studio.  I wanted a larger work surface/desk, not to replace the other, but to have in addition to.  So this is what we came up with.  We took an old kitchen table that was cheap, warped and good for nothing else and attached a piece of plywood to the top.  Snugged it to the wall and added kitchen cupboards that we removed from the back porch in our house.  This new set up works wonderfully, I've spent much more time using this one than the old set up.  We also replaced the wood stove with a larger one that will allow us to really heat the place up and make it comfortable to work the hours away all winter long.  In keeping with the theme of sustainability, the new set up cost us for 1 new piece of plywood, we sold the old stove and were given the current stove and everything else in this set up is reused/recycled.
